Mingo, McIntyre, and Hicks Hops Power Celts at Fastrak Indoor Collegiate Challenge

Men's Track and Field continued their indoor season at the Fastrak Indoor Collegiate Challenge. The Celts continued to shine against a field of Division I and III competition on the track and in the field.

Highlighting the day for the St. Thomas Celts was Matthew Hicks in his season debut. Hicks competed in the Men's high jump posting 1.94m, good enough for the first-place finish. This was also ahead of SCAC rivals Texas Lutheran and Trinity. In the long jump, both Bryce McIntyre and Makale Mingo finished in the top ten. McIntyre at third place logged 6.66m in his jump, just .10 behind first place, and the highest of all Division III competition. Mingo's performance scored at 6.52m to lock in a sixth-place finish.

In the running events, Jacolby Mattox logged his personal best in the 60m dash with a 7.29 finish. Then Bryce McIntyre secured another top-three placement in the 400m dash, blazing runners with a 50.66 time and just .6 seconds behind first place. Right behind him, Terrance Veal finished fifth place at 51.08, then Eduardo Waller came in at eighth logging a time of 51.96. Then in the 800m dash, Mason Wilen impressed taking first place ahead of Division I, II, and III competition, clocking 2:01.5 and blazing 2nd place by .68 of a second.
