Men's Track and Field Continues in Stride Setting PRs at the Houston Invitational

Men's track and field continued to run hard in their indoor season this past week at the Houston Invitational. Continuing in stride, the Celts continued to set personal bests against Division I competition. 

Victor Davis had a strong showing for the Celts kicking things off in the 60m and 200m dash. Davis set his personal best running the 60m in 7.20 and 200 in 22.94. In the 200m, he placed 33rd overall. 

In similar fashion, Terrance Veal ran his personal best in the 400m dash placing 38th overall clocking 52.04. Jacob Smith also had a big debut for the Celts running the 800m dash in a speedy 2:01.72. 

Then in the 3000m run, dual sport athlete Jhancarlos Carpio placed 20th overall running it in 8:44.25, the highest of any Division III runner at the meet and besting many Division I competition. Furthermore, in the mile, Marc Mendoza ran a 4:41.21 placing 24th overall besting high level Division I and NAIA runners. 

In the 4x400, the Celts showcased their speed running it in 3:24.18, placing 8th overall. The foursome of Bryce McIntyre, Terrance Veal, Eduardo Waller, Mason Wilen currently sit at top 55 in the country. 

Up next, Men's track and field continues their season at the fastrak athletix invitational on February 11th.
