In a challenging match, the St. Thomas Celts women's tennis team suffered an 8-1 defeat against the East Texas Baptist Tigers. The doubles matches started the competition, with Anamaria Gonzalez & Lucia Rodriguez falling 8-4 on Line One, Nataly Velasco & Ella Mullins facing an 8-5 defeat on Line Two, and Karissa Guzman & Aimee Tran encountering an 8-4 loss on Line Three.
Moving into singles play, Anamaria Gonzalez fought hard on Line One but ultimately fell short with scores of 6-1, 7-5. Lucia Rodriguez showcased determination, winning Sets 1 and 3 on Line Two with scores of 7-5 and 10-6 but lost Set 2 6-4. Ella Mullins faced a tough match on Line Three, falling 6-4, 6-2.
Jenny Reynolds displayed resilience on Line Four, winning the first set 6-2 but unfortunately lost the second set 6-3 before being retired in Set 3 due to injury. Karissa Guzman and Nataly Velasco faced tough opponents on Lines Five and Six, respectively, with both players falling with scores of 6-0, 6-0 and 7-5, 6-2.
Despite their efforts, the St. Thomas Celts were unable to secure the victory against the East Texas Baptist Tigers.
