Women's Tennis continued non-conference play this Friday against Mary Hardin Baylor. After close matches with each line, the Celts ultimately fell 6-3.
In doubles, Anamaria Gonzalez and Alejandra Lopez got off to a hot start for the Celts taking down their opponent in convincing fashion 8-2. Freshman duo Lucia Rodriguez and Ella Mullins were in line two and struggled to generate points falling 8-1. Rounding out doubles play for St. Thomas were Aimee Tran and Regina Lopez. Lopez and Tran attempted to keep things close with their Crusader opponent but ended up dropping their match 8-3.
In singles play, Anamaria Gonzalez and Alejandra Lopez continued to showcase their skills on the court. Gonzalez won her match convincingly, winning her games 6-2, 6-3. Right behind her Alejandra Lopez dominated her opponent in the first set winning 6-1. Then in the deciding set, she edged her opponent 7-5 to secure the victory. From there, the Celts struggled to pick up another match as UMHB was able to win the rest of their games to cap off a 6-3 victory.
