Women's Tennis hosted their home opener Friday afternoon as they battled with the defending Southland Conference champions in the Texas A&M Corpus Christi Islanders.

The Celts would have their hands full with the highly competitive Islander program. Alejandra Lopez would compete in line one of the singles to start the day, stealing three games early but still falling, 6-2, 6-1. Anamaria Gonzalez would headline in the top-flight for the second match. However, Gonzalez would drop this one, 6-2, 6-0.

The Celts will head to San Antonio for yet another clash with St Mary's University tomorrow, February 12th.
