Women's Tennis opened up the 2022 season with a victory over the McMurry University War Hawks, 8-1.
The Celts would start the day sweeping the doubles matches. The duos of Anamaria Gonzalez/ Alejandra Lopez and Karissa Guzman/Regina Lopez would both take a point, cruising to a 8-2 decision. Alyssa Davila and Jenny Reynolds would have their hands full in line two of doubles. However, the Celts would prevail and down the War Hawks 8-6.
In singles, St. Thomas would flex on McMurry, taking five of the six matches. Every victory was easily obtained except for Jenny Reynold's in line four. Reynolds would take the first set but would be edged in the second one, 8-6. In the ten-point tiebreaker, she would down her opponent 10-4 to earn the point for the Celts.
Women's Tennis will continue their road trip with UT-Permian Basin tomorrow, January 30th.
