St. Thomas improved its overall record to 5-6 and will face top-seeded Trinity University at 6 pm in Saturday's second semifinal. Schreiner University ends its 2023 season with a 7-15 record.

After Schreiner jumped out to a 1-0 lead when the No. 3 doubles squad of Daniella Rodriquez and Kylie Nutt produced an 8-2 win over UST's Regina Lopez and Aimee Tran, the Celts' No. 1 and No. 2 teams of Anamaria Gonzalez and Karissa Guzman and Alejandra Lopez and Ella Mullins each produced 8-6 victories, respectively, to give St. Thomas a 2-1 lead heading into singles play.

Mullins gave the Celts a 3-1 lead with her 6-0, 6-2 victory at No. 3 singles, but the Mountaineers' Victoria Morales gave her team a much-needed momentum boost with her 6-2, 6-2 win at No. 6 singles. After the two squads exchanged points, it was Guzman at the No. 4 line who provided the clincher for UST, taking a 6-4, 6-3 victory over Rodriquez.
