The Women's Tennis Team dropped their 2021 season opener to NCAA Division II, St Mary's University 9-0.

The wet conditions couldn't stop the excitement the Celts felt after finally returning to the court after their season was cancelled last spring. Although they struggled in doubles, UST showed glimpses of excellence against the rattlers. Returning to line one was the duo of Alejandra Lopez and Anamaria Gonzalez. Even though the outcome was not in their favor, they showed fight and grit for the Celts.

Alyssa Davila competed in line three for the Celts as she took on a formidable opponent in Marina Vigil. The first set went to the wire, but the Rattlers stole it 7-5. Another strong start from Anamaria Gonzalez in line one applied pressure to the Rattlers. However, the closely contested match was taken by St. Mary's Ashley Penshorn.

Alejandra Lopez, Jenny Reynolds, Karissa Guzman, Callighan Ard, Anna Ta, and Asan Atilla all had strong showings in singles and doubles for their first match of the year. Despite challenging the Division II Rattlers, the Celts showcased their hard work and skill that will carry them for the reminder of the season.
