O'Shea, Gonzalez, and Rodriguez Named to All-SCAC Team

In exclusive voting done by the league's head coaches and sports information directors the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) announced it All-SCAC Tennis list. When the list was announced, St. Thomas had 4 All-SCAC selections across singles and doubles. 

Men's Singles

Freshman Jamie O' Shea played line two for the Celts and had a 5-5 record and 3-2 in SCAC play. His season was highlighted by huge wins against TLU and a three set thriller against Schreiner. He also got it done at line one doubles with 3 wins. 

Women's Singles

Senior Anamaria Gonzalez held down line one for the Celts with a 5-5 record and 3-2 in SCAC play. Anamaria had a strong start to the season picking up a line one victory against Concordia and followed up with SCAC wins against Texas Lutheran, Schreiner, and Dallas. She was also named SCAC Singles Player of the Week after leading the charge at line one with a commanding 6-2, 6-0 victory over Texas Lutheran's Lindsay Beville. 

Sophomore Lucia Rodriguez had a breakout season posting a overall record of 6-3 and 4-1 in SCAC play. After reaching the ITA Championship in the fall, Lucia was an impact for the player for the Celts and virtually unbeatable in SCAC action, dropping just one match against Colorado College. Her season was highlighted by a marquee victory against non conference foe ETBU earning a hard-fought 7-5, 4-6, 10-6 victory over East Texas Baptist's Addy Seward at No. 2 singles. The victory provided the only point of the match for the Celts and earned Rodriguez SCAC Singles Player of the Week. 

Women's Doubles

Senior Anamaria Gonzalez & Sophomore Lucia Rodriguez held down line 1 of doubles for the Celts posting a record of 6-3 and 4-1 in conference play. The duo picked up marquee SCAC victories against Colorado College and Schreiner at the conference tournament. They were also named doubles team of the week after taking down Colorado College 8-5.
