Men's Tennis Competitive in Loss to SCAC Rival Trinity

Men's Tennis Competitive in Loss to SCAC Rival Trinity

Celt Men's Tennis faced the #13 ranked Trinity Tigers this past Saturday. St. Thomas was swept in the SCAC matchup at the completion of every match.

In doubles, the Tigers looked almost untouchable. Tyler Head and Race Haas got the closest, taking four games off Trinity. However, at the end of doubles play, St. Thomas found themselves in a hole down 3-0.

In singles, it was a similar story as Head and Haas kept the Celts competitive. In line two, Head took three games in the opening set, then one in the subsequent set before falling to his opponent. Then, Haas won his first set 6-4 before his opponent responded and took set two 6-1. The line three match came down to a tiebreak, where Haas lost in dramatic fashion 10-8.

Up next, the Celts head to McMurry for a non-conference match! Follow UST athletics for all scores and updates.
