Men's Tennis hosted their home opener against Grove City College (PA) this Saturday morning. The Celts were competitive against the Wolverines and won their first match of the season!

In doubles, Rodrigo Yoshikata and Jace Ware kicked things off for St. Thomas winning line one doubles 8-2. However, the Celts in a hole in line two as Tyler Head and Race Haas dropped the second match 8-4. Then in line three, Zhanlue Kuang and Hunter Kemball-Cook had their back against the wall down 7-3. With one point remaining, they showed clutch, getting the score 7-7 and forcing a deciding set. Then on the final rallies, the duo showed poise and won to give St. Thomas the 2-1 lead heading into singles.

To kickstart singles play, Rodrigo Yoshikata showcased his skills on the court and took line one: 6-1, 6-2. Up next, Zhanlue Kuang swept his opponent and won 6-0, 6-0. After that, Jace Ware won his match 6-2, 6-1. Finally, the Celts first win of the season was clinched by Hunter Kemball Cook as he won his match, 6-1, 6-2.

To add to the Celt's score, Race Haas won his match in three sets, 4-6, 6-3, and 10-4. Rounding out singles play, Tyler Head dropped his game, but it wasn't enough to keep Grove City in it as St. Thomas won the series 7-2.
