HOUSTON, TX- Men's tennis opened up conference play with a victory over Texas Lutheran University, 7-2. This also marks the first win on the season for the Celts 

Doubles saw the dynamic duo of Race Haas and Tyler Head continuing their stellar performance. In line one, the pair shutout their TLU opponent 8-0 to start things off for the Celts. Juanrodrigo Lopez and Jace Ware would halt any TLU momentum, limiting the Bulldogs to a single point as well. Furthermore, line three saw Dorian Cudina and Jeremiah Hoover edge the Bulldogs by one to take the 3-0 sweep to start the day. 

After a dominant performance in doubles, singles featured the Bulldogs fighting back to even the count. Jeremiah Hoover would give TLU everything they could handle, taking his match to three sets before falling in tiebreakers. However, St. Thomas would flex their muscles with Juanrodrigo Lopez sweeping his opponent, and Tyler Head surrending just one game in his match.

Men's tennis hits the road next week to take on Hardin Simmons University.
