Bowie Earns Player of the Week

HOUSTON,Texas- St. Thomas junior guard Amyia Bowie has been named the SCAC Women's Basketball Player of the Week for her outstanding performances in games played from Monday, February 17, through Sunday, February 23.

Bowie played a pivotal role in helping St. Thomas close out the regular season on a high note, leading the Celts to their 11th straight victory—the longest winning streak since joining the SCAC in 2019. With home wins over Trinity and Schreiner, the Celts secured the No. 2 seed out of the Blue Division for the upcoming SCAC Tournament.

Over the two-game stretch, Bowie averaged 14.5 points on 45% shooting, while also contributing 9.0 rebounds, 6.0 assists, and 2.5 steals per game. Her weekend was highlighted by a double-double performance in Sunday's win over Schreiner, where she posted 15 points and 10 rebounds to help her team finish strong.

Bowie and the Celts are on an 11-game win streak and earning a spot in the SCAC Tournament for the first time since 2023. Now, they look to continue their run and make a deep postseason push, aiming to advance to the second round for the first time in program history
