Women's Basketball would fall to the Schreiner University Mountaineers, 73-63.
The Celts would find themselves down early, as the Mountaineers would open the contest on 8-0 run, warranting a St. Thomas timeout. Schreiner would keep pace on offense for the rest of the half, shooting 45 percent from the floor, compare to the Celts 27 percent.
Trailing by 16 at the break, St. Thomas would trade buckets with Schreiner to start the third quarter. Needing to make up some ground, the Celts would end the frame with 12 unanswered points to cut their deficit to just nine.
An Adriana Chavez and-one layup with five minutes reaming would bring the Celts within two points. However, the Mountaineers would construct a late run to pull away in the fourth quarter.
Olivia Anga would post a season-high 22 points on eight-of-thirteen shooting. She would lock in a double-double with 15 rebounds while also recording a pair of steals and a block. Nearly reaching the 20-point mark would be Micayla Hamilton with 19. The junior guard would dish out a game-high five assists to compliment her two steals.
The Celts will look to snap their skid next Saturday at UDallas.
