Olivia Anga, junior forward from Rosharon, Texas, has been named the SCAC Women's Basketball Player-of-the-Week for games played from Monday, January 3 through Sunday, January 9. (Women's Basketball Weekly Release - Week 9)
Anga poured in a career-high 21 points on 57.1 percent shooting, connecting on 8-of-14 shots to help the Celts snap a four-game losing streak and secure their first SCAC win of the season with a 12-point, 56-44, victory at home over Centenary last Friday night. She came up just short of securing her second double-double of the season, grabbing nine rebounds and also two steals and two blocks in 29 minutes of action. Friday's effort was not only a high watermark for Anga in terms of points, it marked just the fourth time in her career in which she has scored 15 or more in a single contest.
The Celts will return to action on Thursday at 8:00PM when they host the Tigers of Trinity University.
