The Women's Basketball SCAC Preseason Coaches' Poll was released Thursday afternoon as the Celts were picked in the middle of the pack at sixth place. The defending champion, Trinity University Tigers, would take eight-of-the-nine first place votes and sit atop the conference.
The Celts, who finished second in both steals per game (11.6) and turnover margin (+3.88) in 2020-21, received 31 points, which placed them just behind Texas Lutheran at the five-spot. The Celts return Micayla Hamilton, an all-SCAC Second Team performer last season, who finished second in the conference in scoring with 15.8 points per game.
Returning a strong core of players to go along with a promising recruiting class, the Celts look to make a splash in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference. They open up their 2021-22 campaign Friday, November 5th, at 1:00PM with Dallas Christian.
