St. Thomas Falls to Texas Lutheran in Five Hard Fought Sets

Volleyball concluded their regular season on Friday against SCAC foe Texas Lutheran University, after five hard fought sets, the Celts ultimately fell 3-2.

Set 1: St. Thomas (Tex.) 25 - 13 Texas Lutheran St. Thomas started the match with a strong performance in the first set, winning convincingly with a score of 25-13. They displayed efficient attacking and serving, putting Texas Lutheran on the defensive.

Set 2: St. Thomas (Tex.) 26 - 28 Texas Lutheran The second set was closely contested, with Texas Lutheran narrowly edging out St. Thomas with a score of 28-26. Both teams displayed competitive spirit, but Texas Lutheran managed to secure this set.

Set 3: St. Thomas (Tex.) 25 - 19 Texas Lutheran St. Thomas regained their momentum in the third set. Their strong attack and solid blocking allowed them to win with a score of 25-19, regaining the lead in the match.

Set 4: St. Thomas (Tex.) 18 - 25 Texas Lutheran Texas Lutheran fought back in the fourth set, showcasing their resilience. They won this set 25-18, setting up a deciding fifth set to determine the match winner.

Set 5: St. Thomas (Tex.) 16 - 18 Texas Lutheran The fifth and final set was intense, with both teams giving their all. Texas Lutheran managed to secure a narrow victory in the final set, winning 18-16 and taking the match 3-2.

Despite the loss, the St. Thomas (Tex.) team had several standout performers, including Audrey Cataline, Trinity Atkins, and Kendall Howard. Audrey Cataline, in particular, had an outstanding match, contributing significantly to her team's performance with 28 kills and 31.5 points.
