Volleyball concluded their first weekend of conference play after suffering a loss from No. 18 Southwestern. The Celts would drop this contest in straight sets but would battle until the very last serve.
St. Thomas would struggle to slow down the Pirate offense as they combined for 51 kills in the match while hitting .290. However, the Celts would pressure Southwestern in each of the three sets but would fail to edge Southwestern.
Ally Peters would anchor the Celts defense with 20 digs while Laynee Beam would record five block assists. On the offensive end, Alaina Lanik and Paige Havel would notch seven kills while Alyssa Ajlouny and Trinity Atkins would record six apiece.
The Celts will finally return home next weekend as they host Texas Lutheran and Colorado College on October 2nd.
