After the first two sets would slip through the Celts' hands, they would need to respond to avoid the series sweep. In the third set, St. Thomas would take the early lead and never look back, rushing to a 25-22 victory to stay alive. With momentum shifting, the Celts would step on the gas and race past Southwestern with a 25-10 win.

In the deciding fifth set, St. Thomas and Southwestern would trade blows for the entirety of the set. After five lead changes, the Pirates would escape with the 15-13 victory.

Paige Havel would break her own program record for solo blocks in a single match, recording 11. She would also lead the Celts in kills with 15 while hitting a .308. Kelsie Walker posted a game-high 45 assists to go along with her nine digs and four kills. Alyssa Ajlouny would shine posting a double-double with 23 digs and 10 kills.
