Volleyball Falls to No. 3 Trinity

Volleyball Falls to No. 3 Trinity

The Celts opened up SCAC play with No. 3 Trinity in Colorado Springs, Colorado. St. Thomas' efforts would fall short as the Tigers were able to steal the match, three sets to none.

In both the first and third sets, slow starts haunted the Celts as they allowed Trinity to jump out to a large lead. However, St. Thomas would stand toe-to-toe with the Tigers in second set. A kill from Alaina Lanik would knot the score up at 18, but Trinity would slowly pull away towards the conclusion of the set and take the 25-22 victory.

Defensively, freshman Kara Spice would record a game-high 11 digs in her first conference match. On the offensive end, Alaina Lanik would post eight kills while dishing out seven assists.

The Celts look to return to their winning ways at 6:00PM when they take on the Mountaineers of Schreiner University.
