Men's Cross Country Finishes Fourth at McNeese Cowboy Stampede

In a display of remarkable talent and grit, the St. Thomas Celts Men's Cross Country team competed admirably at the McNeese Cowboy Stampede on September 23rd. The event, hosted by McNeese State University, drew strong collegiate cross country programs from the region, and the Celts left their mark with 101 points and an impressive fourth-place finish.

Individual Performances: The Celts' success was a collective effort, but several standout performances deserve recognition:

  1. James Urbina (10th place): James Urbina set a blistering pace with a time of 20:47.42, earning a crucial 10 points for the team.

  2. Jhancarlos Carpio (11th place): Jhancarlos Carpio followed closely behind, crossing the finish line in 20:54.97, securing 11 points for the Celts.

  3. Marc Mendoza (16th place): Marc Mendoza displayed his strength and endurance, finishing with a time of 21:04.55 and contributing 16 points.

  4. Diego Moya (25th place): Diego Moya's determined effort resulted in a time of 21:47.03, earning 25 points for the team.

  5. Osvaldo Jasso (41st place): Osvaldo Jasso demonstrated his commitment, finishing with a time of 23:18.27 and adding 41 points to the team's total.

  6. Drew Cunningham (43rd place): Drew Cunningham's dedication was evident as he finished in 23:24.47, contributing valuable points to the team's overall score.

Overall, the McNeese Cowboy Stampede was a testament to the St. Thomas Celts Men's Cross Country team's skill and determination. Their impressive performance serves as a strong foundation for the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead in the season.
