Men's Cross Country Ties for First in UST Celt Invite

The Men's Cross Country team hosted the UST Celt Invite Saturday morning, their first ever home meet. The team shined as they finished up the meet tied for first.

The Celts had five runners compete for the day, all of which helped ensure the Men's favorable finish. Lucas Wolf and James Urbina set the pace for UST as they both finished 2nd and 3rd, respectively. Lucas Wolf ran a 5:42 mile pace which landed him a time of 22:48. Freshman, James Urbina wasn't far behind with a 5:43 pace for the race which gave him a 22:53 time. Oscar Padilla had a top ten finish as well while running 24:11. UST had the most top ten finishes of any team at the meet.

UST and McMurry University both tied for first place, receiving 48 points each. Fellow SCAC members, Texas Lutheran and Southwestern finished 3rd and 4th in the UST Celt Invite, receiving 58 and 59 points, respectively.

After the first ever UST Celt Invite, Head Coach Ryan Dohner was pleased with how his team ran. "This was a tough course, a lot of ups and downs and curves. The men ran hard, but we still have a few more weeks to get better before conference."
