Men's Cross Country Ranked Highest DIII at Rice Invitational

Men's Cross Country competed at the highly competitive Rice Invitational this Friday evening. Against nothing but a large amount of Division I competition, St. Thomas finished 7th place, the highest placing DIII school at the meet, and ahead of SCAC Rival Texas Lutheran. 

  1. James Urbina led the team, finishing in 27th place with a time of 17 minutes and 6 seconds, running at an impressive pace of 3 minutes and 17 seconds per kilometer.

  2. Jhancarlos Carpio secured the 38th position with a time of 17 minutes and 36.7 seconds, maintaining a strong pace of 3 minutes and 23 seconds per kilometer.

  3. Marc Mendoza closely followed in 39th place, crossing the finish line in 17 minutes and 42.8 seconds, running at a pace of 3 minutes and 24 seconds per kilometer.

  4. Diego Moya finished in 42nd place with a time of 17 minutes and 46 seconds, maintaining a pace of 3 minutes and 25 seconds per kilometer.

  5. Drew Cunningham secured the 64th position, completing the race in 18 minutes and 46.3 seconds, with a pace of 3 minutes and 37 seconds per kilometer.

  6. Hector Solis closely followed in 65th place, finishing just behind Drew Cunningham with a time of 18 minutes and 47.9 seconds, also running at a pace of 3 minutes and 37 seconds per kilometer.

  7. Osvaldo Jasso finished in 75th place with a time of 20 minutes and 15.7 seconds, with a pace of 3 minutes and 54 seconds per kilometer.

When the scores were tallied, St. Thomas finished with 210 total points, good for 7th overall.
