GENEVA, OH – St. Thomas senior Matthew Hicks capped off a standout season by representing the Celts as the program's sole qualifier at the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships, held in Geneva, Ohio.
Competing in the high jump, Hicks cleared 1.95 meters, finishing 18th overall in a highly competitive national field. His qualification marked a significant milestone for UST Track & Field, as he became one of the few in program history to reach the NCAA Outdoor Championships.
Hicks earned his spot at nationals after breaking the UST school record earlier this season with a jump of 2.07 meters, which ranked him among the top high jumpers in the country.
His performance in Geneva officially concludes a successful 2025 season for the UST Track & Field program, which saw multiple school records, conference accolades, and historic finishes at championship meets.
