
SEGUIN,TX- St. Thomas men's track and field team delivered a record-breaking performance at the TLU D3 Invite in Seguin, Texas, picking up multiple wins and top national rankings.
Matthew Hicks kicked off the meet with a victory in the high jump, clearing 2.04m to set a new school record. His jump is currently the best mark in the nation.
Jonathan Castro added another first-place finish for the Celts, winning the 5000m in 15:54.11.
The Men's 4x100 relay team of Jason Crampton, Ethan Ladipo, Chris Releford, and Bryce McIntyre ran an incredible 41.48, finishing just .03 seconds off the win. Their time set a new school record and currently ranks 4th in the nation.
Osvaldo Jasso claimed victory in the 1500m, clocking 4:12.27, with Marc Mendoza finishing right behind him in second place (4:14.54).
In the 400m, Bryce McIntyre opened his season strong, finishing second in 48.96.
Speed was the story in the 100m, as Jason Crampton (10.77) and Chris Releford (10.80) ran personal bests, moving to 2nd and 3rd all-time in UST program history.
In the 200m, both Terrence Veal and Jason Crampton tied for a personal-best 22.03, finishing 9th and 10th overall.
