Men's Track and Field began the Victor Lopez Classic this Friday night. It was the distance runners who led the night for St. Thomas racing against tough competition.
In the men's 1500m run it was Jhancarlos Carpio who led the way for the Celts. Carpio finished 13th place clocking 4:02.36 and ahead of many Division One runners. He was also the second-highest Division three runner in the event. Behind him, James Urbina set his personal record by running 4:02.93 good for 15th place. Lastly, Hector Solis finished 35th finishing the event in 4:14.15.
Then in the men's 10k Drew Cunningham was the Celt who rose to the challenge. Cunningham finished eighth place showcasing his speed clocking 34:12.70 in the event.
