Celt Men's Track Sets 3 School Records at Trinity Last Chance Meet

The St. Thomas Celt Men's Track Team competed fiercely at the Trinity University Last Chance Meet, aiming to enhance their performances and secure qualification for the NCAA National Meet. Here's a recap of their exceptional achievements:

  1. Kashala Kapyamba - Men's 100m (School Record)

    • Kashala Kapyamba set a new school record in the Men's 100m event, sprinting to a remarkable time of 10.69. His outstanding performance earned him a 3rd place finish, showcasing his speed and determination on the track.
  2. Bryce McIntyre - Men's 400m (School Record)

    • Bryce McIntyre showcased his exceptional talent by winning the Men's 400m race with a blazing time of 47.89, setting a new school record in the process. His remarkable speed and endurance propelled him to victory, highlighting his dedication to excellence.
  3. Matthew Hicks - Men's High Jump (School Record)

    • Matthew Hicks delivered a stellar performance in the Men's High Jump, clearing the bar at 2.02 meters to set a new school record. His impressive feat earned him a 2nd place finish overall, demonstrating his skill and athleticism in the event.

The St. Thomas Celt Men's Track Team's remarkable achievements at the Last Chance Meet underscored their dedication and determination to excel on the track. With new school records set and outstanding performances across various events, they showcased their readiness to compete at the highest level and make their mark at the NCAA National Meet.

The Celts will have one more chance to do so at the Augustana Midwest Twilight Final Qualifier in Rock Island, IL later this week.
