
NACADOGHES,TX- UST Men's Track & Field team continued to build momentum heading into championship season with a strong showing at the SFA Invite, highlighted by personal bests across distance and middle-distance events.
Jonathan Castro led the way with a personal best in the 5000m, running 15:26.47, marking one of the fastest times in school history and showing excellent form heading into the postseason.
In the 400m, Bryce McIntyre placed 5th with a season-best 48.39, while teammate Terrence Veal also turned in a solid performance, clocking 49.54 for 14th place.
In the sprint events, Jason Crampton competed in the 100m, finishing in 11.12, while Chris Releford ran 22.55 in the 200m, good for 21st place.
Middle-distance runners saw strong improvements, with Juan Silva breaking the 2-minute barrier for the first time in his career, posting a personal best of 1:59.49 in the 800m. Both Marc Mendoza (2:00.33) and Diego Moya (2:01.02) also recorded season bests in the same event.
To close the meet, the men's 4x400m relay team ran their best time of the outdoor season, clocking a 3:27.81 to finish 8th.
