Men’s Track Builds Momentum at FastTrak

HOUSTON,TX- St. Thomas men's track team competed in their second indoor meet of the season at the FastTrak Invitational Challenge in Houston, held at the Yeomen Fieldhouse. The Celts demonstrated continued improvement, highlighted by a new school record and personal best performances.

Freshman Joshua Martinez set a new school record in the 60m hurdles with a time of 8.67 seconds, solidifying his impressive start to the season. In the open 60m, Chris Releford led the Celts with a time of 7.29, closely followed by Terrence Veal (7.30) and Aden Mazyck (7.33), who improved on his performance from the previous meet.

In the 600-yard run, Juan Silva and Cristian Rios placed 7th and 8th overall, while Mason McFeeters achieved a personal best in the 3000m, clocking 9:01.95. His time ranks as the third fastest in program history.

Head Coach Jarrick Wright praised the team's performance, stating, "The team performed well in all event groups. It's good seeing improvements and it still being early in the indoor season. Excited to see the team build off this momentum the next few weeks back at this facility."
