Track Posts Strong Times at Pelican Relays

BATON ROUGE, LA-  St. Thomas men's track and field team continued their outdoor campaign in Baton Rouge at the Pelican Relays, turning in several strong performances and personal bests.

The men's 4x100m relay team finished 5th overall, clocking a seasonal best of 42.02. In the middle-distance events, Marc Mendoza delivered a consistent performance in the 1500m, finishing 3rd overall and matching his personal best of 4:08.47.

In the sprints, Chris Releford ran 10.83 in the 100m, placing 21st in a deep field. The 800m saw two personal bests from the Celts: Juan Silva clocked a 2:01.31 to finish 13th, and Osvaldo Jasso crossed in 2:04.58 for a new lifetime best.

Wrapping up the day, Jonathan Castro took 3rd place in the 3000m, running 9:17.46 to continue his strong distance season.

The Celts will be back on the track on Friday, April 11, at the Carl Knight Invite hosted by Stephen F. Austin.
