
HOUSTON, TX – St. Thomas Track & Field Head Coach Jarrick Wright announced the Celts' 2025 schedule, which includes a competitive slate of indoor and outdoor meets across the region and beyond.
Coach Wright adds, "The team had a great fall training and I'm excited to see what they can produce this season. We are looking forward to defending a few titles while also gaining some more hardware at the conference championship in April.
Indoor Season
The Celts will kick off the indoor season on January 17 at the Owen Hewett Invitational in Norman, Oklahoma. They'll return to Houston for the FasTrak College Invite on January 25, followed by a two-day stint at the Robert Platt Invitational from January 31-February 1.
The team continues its indoor campaign at the FasTrak Invite in Houston on February 8 before traveling to Lubbock, Texas, for the Jarvis Scott Invite on February 14-15. The Celts will wrap up their regular indoor season at the LSU Twilight meet in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, on February 21.
Athletes who qualify will head to the NCAA Indoor Championships in Rochester, New York, on March 14-15, concluding the indoor season.
Outdoor Season
The Celts begin their outdoor season on March 1 at the Southwestern Invite in Georgetown, Texas. They'll compete at the TLU D3 Challenge in Seguin, Texas, on March 22, followed by the Trinity Invite in San Antonio on March 28-29.
April features marquee meets, including the Pelican Relays in Baton Rouge on April 5 and the SFA Carl Knight Invite in Nacogdoches, Texas, on April 11-12. The Celts will conclude their regular season at the SCAC Championships in Seguin, Texas, from April 25-27.
Postseason action includes the Harrison Dillard Twilight in Berea, Ohio, on May 8-9, and the NCAA Outdoor Championships in Geneva, Ohio, from May 22-24, where the Celts aim to make their mark on the national stage.
Returning All-Region Performers and New Additions
The 2025 season will be fueled by the return of several USTFCCCA All-Region honorees and bolstered by exciting new talent. Matthew Hicks, the SCAC High Jump Champion and school record-holder (2.02m), is back to anchor the field events. Bryce McIntyre, who shattered the 48-second barrier in the 400m with a school record of 47.89, looks to build on his momentum from last season. On the women's side, Sophia Delgado will aim to lower her school record in the 400m hurdles (1:03.31) after a breakout season while reigning SCAC 200m Champion Trinity Provost returns, following a career-best time of 24.81.
Joining this experienced core are several promising newcomers eager to make their mark. With fresh energy and depth across multiple events, the Celts are set to reach new heights in the 2025 season.
