HOUSTON, TX – The NCAA Division III Men's Basketball Committee has officially announced the 64-team field for the 2025 NCAA Division III Men's Basketball Championship. The University of St. Thomas (25-2), fresh off winning both the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) regular-season and tournament titles, is set to make its third consecutive trip to the NCAA Tournament—this time, as the SCAC's automatic qualifier. For the first time in program history, the Celts will host the first and second rounds of the national tournament.
St. Thomas clinched its third SCAC Tournament Championship on Sunday with a thrilling 58-53 overtime victory against Trinity, securing the league's automatic bid. Making their third consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance, the Celts are eager to build on their postseason experience and make a deep run in the national tournament. They enter the tournament boasting a 25-2 overall record, powered by a strong defensive identity and key contributions from All-Tournament Team selections Andrew Adebo, Angel Johnson, and Nathan Kongolo. The Celts want to capitalize on their home-court advantage and make a deep postseason run.
