
HOUSTON, TX- The St. Thomas Celts continued their undefeated streak, defeating Wisconsin-Superior 74-53 at home and advancing to 5-0 this season.
From the opening whistle, the Celts made a statement, storming to a commanding 15-0 lead. Their relentless defense kept the Yellowjackets scoreless until 7 minutes into the game. The Celts maintained their defensive intensity, holding the Yellowjackets to just 38% shooting in the first half and heading into the break with a solid 37-23 lead. Wisconsin-Superior fought in the second half, narrowing the gap to just 6- points at 48-42. However, Andrew Adebo's clutch performance, including two critical free throws and a key layup, reignited the Celts' momentum. They steadily rebuilt their lead, pushing it back to double digits and never looking back.
St. Thomas maintained their energy and composure to close the game, securing a 74-53 victory. Charles Gitonga led the Celts with 16 points, going 8-for-13 from the field and grabbing 8 rebounds to control the paint. Andrew Adebo provided a strong all-around performance, adding 14 points, 5 rebounds, and 2 assists while hitting six key free throws. Ricky Altamirano was on fire from beyond the arc, knocking down 4 three-pointers and finishing with 12 points and 4 steals. Angel Johnson contributed 10 points, dished out five assists, and added four steals to fuel the Celts' defensively
