
HOUSTON, TX- St. Thomas Men's Basketball team delivered a exciting performance in their conference matchup against the University of the Ozarks, claiming a 76-52 victory. The win advances the Celts to an impressive 15-1 overall record and a perfect 7-0 in conference play.
The first half saw a close contest as both teams traded baskets early on. With four minutes left in the half, Reyce Allen's mid-range jumper gave the Celts a 27-20 lead, sparking momentum. They extended their advantage at the free-throw line, thanks to Andrew Adebo's accuracy, heading into halftime with a 44-33 lead.
In the second half, the Celts faced resistance as the Eagles cut the lead to just four points, 56-52, with six minutes remaining. However, Marion Williams stepped up in the clutch, delivering back-to-back buckets, including a crucial and-1 layup, to help St. Thomas regain control. The Celts finished strong, holding the Eagles scoreless for the final minutes and extending their lead for a commanding 76-52 victory.
Marion Williams led all scorers with 21 points, shooting 7-of-13 from the field, including two three-pointers. He also contributed three rebounds, four assists, and four steals, showcasing his all-around impact. Andrew Adebo delivered a double-double with 17 points and 11 rebounds while shooting an efficient 6-of-8 from the floor. Reyce Allen added nine points and five rebounds, providing valuable contributions on both ends. Gavin Davis chipped in 10 points off the bench, draining two three-pointers to help maintain the Celts' momentum.
The Celts dominated the boards, outrebounding Ozarks 35-28, and forced nine steals while holding the Eagles to just 38% shooting in the second half.
