HOUSTON, TX- After defeating McMurry at home, UST took on Concordia University, defeating the Tornadoes 77-55 for another home conference match. With the win, the Celts advance to 13-1 overall and remain undefeated in the conference, 6-0.
The game started with the Celts on fire, as they jumped out to an early 12-0 lead. The Tornadoes finally managed to score in the 16th minute, cutting the lead to 12-2, but UST continued to extend their advantage. A dunk by Reyce Allen sparked the team, putting the Celts up 31-13. Concordia fought back, narrowing the gap to a 10-point deficit, but UST regained momentum with key plays from Andrew Adebo, whose tip-in and Gavin Davis' three-pointer helped the Celts close out the first half with a 42-29 lead.
In the second half, UST maintained their dominance, going on a 7-0 run to start the period. Concordia called a timeout to regroup, but it wasn't enough to shift the momentum. The Celts' defense held the Tornadoes to just 36% shooting in the second half, and the offense continued to roll, extending the lead and securing the win.
Marion Williams led the way for the Celts, showcasing his scoring ability with 23 points, including 5 three-pointers. Andrew Adebo was equally impressive, tallying 14 points with a perfect 4-for-4 performance from the free-throw line and grabbing 4 rebounds. Ricky Altamirano chipped in 9 points, sinking 3 three-pointers, while Reyce Allen provided a spark on both ends with 8 points and 4 rebounds.
