Men's Basketball has picked up two non-conference games against Schreiner University this Friday and Saturday. Due to health and safety protocols, the Schreiner University Mountaineers were unable to play their scheduled games against Southwestern on January 15th and 16th.
Giving that the Celts were scheduled a bye for this upcoming weekend, they will be available to travel to Kerrville and take on the Mountaineers. Originally, the 2021 SCAC schedule did not feature this matchup, therefore these games will be counted as non-conference games.
The Celts are coming off a weekend sweep against UDallas and are starting to see their offense click. They put up a season-high 101 points Saturday night where they knocked down 16 three-pointers. Freshman Adam Kanafani is leading the team in points and rebounds with 16.3 PPG and 8.5 RPG. With averaging nearly 80 points a game, the Celts are ranked first in points per game in the SCAC. Currently, UST is in a four-way tie for first place in the SCAC with a 3-1 record.
