Trinh Highlights St. Thomas All-SCAC Selections

In voting done by the leagues Head Coaches and Sports Information Directors, the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) announced its All-SCAC Baseball selections this Friday afternoon. When going through the list, the Celts had 7 selections. 

Alex Trinh highlighted the Celts making 2nd team All-SCAC at second base. The sophomore had a breakout campaign in 2024 in the leadoff spot with a .320 batting average and 39 hits. In conference, Trinh hit .333 had 5 triples, a home run, and 17 RBI. Defensively, he also helped turn 6 double plays and recorded 43 putouts and 66 assists.

Making the list as an honorable mention were: Landon Murray, Mason Seay, Walker Holzhausen, Kameron Craig, Dillon McKee, and Jarod Smith

Landon Murray was the Celts ace this season and showcased his pitching ability with a 2.92 ERA in 12 starts. The Celts all-time wins, strikeouts, and innings pitched leader also threw a complete game shutout against SCAC foe Texas Lutheran which earned him SCAC pitcher of the week.

Catcher Mason Seay had himself an outstanding run in the SCAC ranking top ten in batting average at .313, home runs at 7, RBIs at 35, and slugging percentage at .671. Mason stands out as one of 4 players in the SCAC to be in the top ten in all four of the mentioned categories. 

Walker Holzhausen was a key reliever for the Celts appearing in 19 games and amassing a record of 3-1 in 22.2 innings pitched. The sophomore totaled 20 strikeouts and an impressive 2.38 ERA.

Another reliever from the Celts bullpen making the list was Kameron Craig. Craig was nearly untouchable through 19.2 innings of work allowing just 5 earned runs, notching 2 wins, and 3 saves. He finished with a 2.29 ERA and 15 strikeouts. 

First baseman Dillon McKee was a force for the Celts at the plate this past season batting a .263 batting average with 7 home runs and 27 RBI. Played in all 21 SCAC matchups and ranks in top 10 in home runs.

Lastly, third baseman Jarod Smith had an outstanding conference run batting .333. The junior was reached base in 15 of his 16 SCAC appearances and in total had a .366 on-base percentage and .406 slugging.
