Baseball dropped the final game of the Southwestern series this Sunday afternoon. The Celts were limited to just three hits in the 5-2 loss.
Right after the home half of the first inning, St. Thomas already found themselves playing from behind. With the deficit already 1-0, the Celts were shutout the first four innings of the game and struggled to get a hit. However, when the fifth inning rolled around, Jarod Smith broke the shutout with a rbi single that scored Edward Gutierrez. With the score now 1-1, Dylan Lamb answered the call with a sacrifice fly to bring home Smith and give St. Thomas the 2-1 lead. The lead was short lived though, as Southwestern regained it in the home half of the sixth inning score two more and making the score 3-2. From there, they limited St. Thomas to just one more hit and added two runs of insurance to secure a 5-2 victory.
