UST Baseball overwhelmed the Crusaders of Dallas Christian College, outscoring them 33-6 on the day.
Game one: UST-16 DCC-3
The Celts kicked off their battle with Dallas Christian with a three-run first inning. They capitalized off multiple errors and past balls to put runners in scoring position. A John Sebok single and Leo Galvan's sacrifice fly would plate two runs for UST. After escaping back-to-back bases loaded jams, The Celts never looked back. An explosive fourth inning enabled them to stretch their lead out to seven runs. Parker Edwards, John Sebok, Leo Galvan and Caleb Edmonds all recorded RBIs during this inning. In the Celts' last attempt to put away the Crusaders, they produced at six-run 7th inning to close the door on the Dallas Christian. With the top of the lineup up to bat, UST deliberately chipped away at the Crusader's pitching staff. RBI single after RBI single would eventually give the Celts the 16-3 victory in game one. Landon Murray would grab the win pitching a complete game.
Game two: UST-17 DCC-3
The Celts' bats would stay hot to start the second half of the doubleheader. John Sebok would add to his RBI total on the day with a 2 RBI double in the top of first. Third basemen Leo Galvan would also drive a run in with a base knock of his own to give UST a quick 4-0 lead. The runs would continue to pour in as the Celts played a complete game, both offensively and defensively. They would go on to add 13 more runs and only allow the crusaders to post three of their own. An Edward Gutierrez RBI double would cap off the Celts dominant performance to lock in the 17-3 win.
UST Baseball advances to 7-0 on the season and will play another doubleheader against Dallas Christian tomorrow at 12:00 and 3:00.
