Baseball opened up its three game road trip against Hardin Simmons this Friday night. The Celts struggled to generate much offense after dropping the series opener 12-3.
Hardin Simmons got off to a hot start notching four runs in the first inning, powered by a three run shot to left field. The Celts finally scored in the second as Leo Galvan scored on a wild pitch to make the score 4-1. However, St. Thomas was unable to keep pace with the Cowboys as they seemingly added eight more runs. A Cameron McClure solo home run tried to spark a rally, but the Hardin Simmons pitching held strong to secure a game-one victory 12-3.
