On the grounds of Constellation Field, Baseball had a single-game series with the University of Texas at Dallas. Despite 15 hits on the offensive end, a four-run fifth inning for UTD snapped the Celts' three-game win streak.
A leadoff double kickstarted the day for the Comets as St. Thomas already found themselves in hole. Brady Watson responded with two quick strikeouts, however a single followed to make the score 1-0. St. Thomas responded the home half of the inning as Cam McClure drew a walk and a Jeffrey Williams single brought him home. After that, it was a quiet game for both teams for four innings. Then in the fifth, the Comets loaded the bases, and took advantage of the opportunity. A triple scored three runs, then after the dust settled, the score was 5-1. The Celts added just one run that inning. The Comets then added two more runs of insurance. This was enough to secure the 7-3 victory.
Up next, Belhaven University comes to town to take on St. Thomas! Games will be played at Rice University Thursday thru Saturday at Rice University. Come out and support your Celts!
