A slow start plagued the Celts as they dropped the final game of their series with Centenary College, 7-5.
After surrendering six runs in the first two innings, the Celts were finally able to get their bats going in the top of the fourth. Down to their final out of the inning, Mitch Gross would drive in Leo Galvan with an RBI single. After a run was plated due to a Gents error, Adam Scharf would finish off the inning with an RBI single to bring Gross home, cutting Centenary's lead in half.
Eyeing a late-game rally, Kyle Bearden and Noah Martinez would take advantage of a broken play by the Gents and would score, cutting their deficit to one run. However, an eighth inning run by Centenary would be enough to fend off the Celts' late-game momentum.
UST Baseball returns home for a series with UDallas next week at Houston Baptist University.
