Kameron Craig: Celt Closer & Social Media Star

Kameron Craig: Celt Closer & Social Media Star

Kameron Craig is a HoUSTon athlete through and through. Since he moved to the city at age seven, Craig has found himself mainly in two places, on the mound or in a booth. On top of being a business student at the University of St. Thomas, he is a Celt Baseball pitcher and social media star.

HoUSTon is Where Craig Wants to Be

Baseball has been a part of Kameron Craig's life since he was five years old. From day one of picking up a glove, he knew wanted to play college baseball. Knowing that Houston is his home, the University of St. Thomas gave him the opportunity to follow his dreams and stay close. Since joining the team in just their second year of competition, he has seen the growth of the program simply because of its placement. "St. Thomas is unique in the resources and individuals it can bring to the program," Craig added. "Houston is a baseball hotbed and gives student-athletes like me the confidence to compete at a high level."

Each year, the Celts have made strides with Kameron as a pitcher, most notably they made the SCAC Tournament last season and knocked off #2 ranked Texas Lutheran. Craig came in the ninth inning and shut down the Bulldogs, striking out their last batter to give St. Thomas their first SCAC Tournament victory. This season, he picked up where he left off, leading the conference in saves and helping the Celts to 10 of their 20 total wins.

Clutch City Cast

Even away from playing the sport, Kameron's passion for baseball extended to a podcast between him and his childhood best friend, Bret Williams. The show was started the week the Houston Astros won the 2022 World Series and is dedicated to Craig and Williams' passion for Houston Sports and Baseball. Craig has had opportunities to talk to various MLB All-Stars and learned what it's like to be a pro. He even takes after his favorite pro, Ryan Pressly of the Astros through his walk-out song and confidence. "My love for baseball extends further than the diamond," Craig said. "It's a blessing to use my platforms to showcase my love of the game."

On and off the mound, it's clear to see Kameron Craig's passion for the game of baseball. He hopes to continue this as his job one day, whether it be on the field or in the booth, he cites St. Thomas as a place that allows him to grow his passions as he wishes.

"Without St. Thomas, I don't know, the student, athlete, or Christian I would be today," Craig added. "The school has given me the opportunity and balance to pursue my passions. Go Celts!"
