Men's Soccer Completes Second Half Comeback

Men's Soccer Completes Second Half Comeback

Despite trailing early, Men's Soccer was able to comeback and earn their fourth victory of the season after a 2-1 decision with Sul Ross. Luis Bencomo would lead the way with and assist and a game-winning goal.

A successful free kick from the Lobos would put them on the board first in just the 18th minute. However, the Celts defense would bounce back and hold Sul Ross to only two shots for the half. On the attacking end, UST was aggressive, nearly quadrupling the Lobos' shot total (7). Unfortunately, all of these attempts would fall short and the Celts would head into the break down 1-0.

Looking to even things up, UST would keep attacking the Lobo's defense. It wasn't until the 68th minute that Luis Bencomo would drop a perfectly place ball to Eddie Molina for a goal.

With a brand new match presented to both teams, the intensity would pick up for the remaining 22 minutes. Bencomo would yet again leave his print on the match, finding the back of the goal with three minutes left to play. The Celts would stifle the Lobos in the closing minutes to secure the win.

Men's Soccer will travel to Georgetown next Friday for a non-counting conference match with Southwestern.
