Coach Edwin Green, stands as a true basketball enthusiast and a dedicated mentor to the St. Thomas Women's Basketball program. A proud native Houstonian, Coach Green's journey in the world of athletics began at Nimitz High School, where he not only honed his skills on the court but also developed a deep passion for the game. After graduating from Nimitz, Coach Green continued his education at Blinn Junior College in 1982.
His quest for knowledge and academic achievement led him to Texas Southern University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology in 2009.
Beyond his collegiate journey, Coach Green has dedicated five years to coaching at Spring ISD Middle School, where he excels not only as a basketball coach but also as a football coach. His impact extends beyond the field, as he also serves as a science and CTE (Career and Technical Education) Instructor, demonstrating his commitment to both the athletic and academic development of his students.
With five years of coaching experience under his belt, Coach Green brings a wealth of knowledge and a deep understanding of the game to his role as Assistant Coach and Special Programs Coordinator for the St. Thomas Women's Basketball team. His multifaceted background, coupled with his passion for both sports and education, makes Coach Green an invaluable asset to the program. His coaching philosophy is grounded in mentorship, fostering positive team dynamics, and instilling a love for the game that extends far beyond the basketball court.
