St. Thomas women's soccer secures its first 2024 season win with a 2-1 match against Millsaps College in Jackson, MS, on Saturday evening.
The Celts applied pressure early, with (Fr) Fernanda Alvarado scoring in the 15th minute to give St. Thomas an early lead. St. Thomas's maintained their 1-0 lead into the second half despite a shot from Millsaps.
Carrying the momentum into the second half, at the 49th minute, (So.) Valerie Vasquez scored, bringing the Celts to a 2-0 lead. The Celts held the 2-0 lead until the 52nd minute, when Millsaps found a response, cutting the lead to 2-1.
