Five Celts Earn All-SCAC Honors

After exclusive voting by Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference coaches, five Celts from the Women's Soccer team would land on the All-SCAC team.

 

Headlining the group would be junior midfielder Mary Pham and junior forward Karson Funderburk, grabbing Second Team All-SCAC honors. Pham, the Katy, Texas native, would start in 10 contest for the Celts and help lead a St. Thomas squad that would rank sixth in the SCAC. She would make an impact offensively chipping in one assist for the 2021 season. Funderburk, the Blinn College transfer from Cypress, Texas would lead the Celts in shots (41) and tie for most goals with two. She would start in 14 of 15 matches in her first year wearing the red and gold and would post a team-high eight points for the season.

 

Collecting All-SCAC Honorable Mention honors would be the duo of Kelsie Droptini and Brooke Le. Droptini, junior defender from Vidor, Texas, would man a back line that ranked fourth in shutouts in the SCAC. She would start in 14 of 15 contests this year and would even record an assist in the Celts season opener against Howard Payne. Freshman Brooke Le, out of Beaumont, Texas, would get the start in nearly every conference match. Le would also tie for most goals with two while leading the team in shots on goal. She would find herself on the All-SCAC Freshman Team as well.

 

Joining Le on the All-SCAC Freshman Team would be Kayla Tomlinson. The defender out of College Station, Texas would start in all six conference matches for the Celts. Tomlinson would help lead a scrappy St. Thomas defense that recorded four clean sheets.
