
Women's Soccer has announced their team individual awards after wrapping up their 2021 campaign. Rachel Bejarano would take home the Scholar Student-Athlete award and Kelsie Droptini would earn the Celt Award.
Bejarano, a sophomore midfielder from Santa Fe, Texas has represented the Celts both on the pitch and in the classroom. Halfway through her Studio Arts degree, she has posted a 3.89 GPA. Bejarano appeared in every match for the Celts and started nearly half the contests.
"Since Rachel has been a part of the women's soccer program she has always continuously excelled in the classroom at a high level, while also consistently competing on the field" Head Coach Nick Morrison said. "She is very deserving of this award and continues to set a great example of how to be successful on the field and in the classroom."
Droptini, a sophomore from Vidor, Texas earned the Celt Award for the second consecutive year. This honor is given by each coach to a team member based on character, integrity, sportsmanship, and work ethic. Droptini appeared in every match for the Celts and served as one of the team's captains.
"Kelsie took on the role of captain of our team this season and grew into the role at an incredible pace by earning the respect of her teammates with her work ethic on the field, in the classroom, and in the Houston community" Morrison added. " I'm very proud of her adaptation into a leadership role this entire year and we are excited to have her continue in that position as a staple of success going forward in the women's soccer program."
