AUSTIN,TX- St. Thomas softball team opened its SCAC Championship run against Trinity, but the matchup was suspended in the bottom of the 2nd inning with the score tied 0-0 due to weather delays in Austin.
Originally scheduled to take place at Southwestern University, the tournament was relocated to Concordia. Despite the change, the Celts remained composed as they began their postseason journey.
As it stands, UST will resume its game against Trinity at 11:30 AM tommorow, with the winner advancing to play in Game 7 later Saturday night at 6:30 p.m. against the winner of the Texas Lutheran vs. McMurry matchup (which was also suspended).
Looking ahead, tournament officials have confirmed that if the winner of Game 8 goes on to win Game 9, then the championship game (Game 10) will be moved to Monday instead of Sunday.
St. Thomas continues its pursuit of the conference title, and fans are encouraged to stay tuned for updated game times and results as the schedule unfolds.
