Softball capped off their regular season with a win this Sunday afternoon. After taking two yesterday against Schreiner, the Celts secured the sweep by taking game three, 3-0.
It was a pitching duel from the beginning as neither team's pitcher was willing to give an inch. Both teams got a hit in the first inning but were unable to capitalize. From there, Bailey Tisdale gave Schreiner all they could handle, limiting them to just four hits. On the flip side, UST could not score a run until the sixth inning. That was when Rebecca Archibald and Jaelyn Simmons both got on for Adelyn Becerra. Becerra hit a double to deep left field which brought home two runs. To add to the damage, Mallarie Munson had an RBI single to bring home Becerra as the score now read 3-0. Down to their last three outs, Schreiner tried to bring home a run, but were unable to as St. Thomas secured the victory.
In the circle, Bailey Tisdale went all seven innings allowing just five hits and a walk. Tisdale got her fourteenth complete game of the season and struck out two batters in the process.
